Teflon™ (PTFE)

Teflon™ is the brand name for Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a high-performance synthetic fluoropolymer. It is renowned for its exceptional chemical inertness, incredibly low coefficient of friction, and ability to withstand extreme temperatures

Key Properties:

Lowest Coefficient of Friction: Of any solid material.Chemical Inertness: Unmatched resistance to aggressive chemicals and corrosion.Wide Temperature Range: Operates effectively from -200°C to +260°C .Non-Stick: Not reactive to most substances.

Applications:

Seals, gaskets, linings, non-stick coatings, bearings, piston rings, and high-purity fluid handling components

PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)

PEEK is a high-performance, semi-crystalline thermoplastic that provides an outstanding balance of mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and thermal stability. It is one of the most sought-after engineering plastics for demanding applications

Key Properties:

High-Temperature Performance: Maintains properties at elevated temperatures.Exceptional Mechanical Strength: Strong and stiff, often used to replace metal parts.Excellent Chemical Resistance: Resists degradation from acids and harsh chemicals .Wear Resistance: Outstanding resistance to abrasion.

Applications:

Aerospace components, automotive parts (impellers, seals), oil and gas equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, and medical implants

PA6 (Polyamide 6)

PA6 is a general-purpose grade of polyamide (nylon) produced by the polymerization of caprolactam. It is one of the most widely used engineering plastics in Europe, known for its toughness and cost-effectiveness

Key Properties:

High Toughness & Impact Strength: Excellent impact resistance, even at low temperatures.Good Wear Resistance: Suitable for moving parts.Hygroscopic: Absorbs moisture from the air, which can increase toughness but reduce dimensional stability and stiffness

Applications:

Bushes, moderately loaded gears, automotive components, connectors, and extruded semi-finished products like rods and sheets

MC (Monomer Casting) Nylon

MC Nylon, or Monomer Casting Nylon, is a specialized form of nylon produced through anionic polymerization of caprolactam directly in a mold. This process yields a material with a significantly higher molecular weight than standard nylon, resulting in superior mechanical properties

Key Properties:

Very High Molecular Weight: 2-3 times that of standard PA6, leading to superior strength and stiffness .Exceptional Wear Resistance: High self-lubricating properties.Good Dimensional Stability: Lower water absorption than standard nylon .Excellent for Large Parts: The casting process allows for the production of very large, heavy components

Applications:

Large gears, bearings, wheels, rollers, and heavy-duty industrial components for mining, railway, and heavy machinery

Nylon (General Polyamide)

"Nylon" is the generic name for a family of synthetic polymers known as polyamides (PA). It was first introduced by DuPont in 1935, and it became a widely used material for its toughness, elasticity, and resistance to abrasion and chemicals

Key Properties:

High Strength & Toughness: Excellent mechanical properties.Good Wear & Abrasion Resistance: Durable for dynamic applications.Resilience & Elasticity: Can absorb impacts and recover.Hygroscopic: Prone to moisture absorption, similar to PA6

Applications:

Fibers for textiles and ropes, films, automotive parts, electrical connectors, and consumer goods.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

PVC is a versatile, widely used thermoplastic that comes in both rigid and flexible forms. Its properties are significantly altered by the addition of plasticizers

Key Properties:

Rigid (uPVC): Strong, durable, with good chemical resistance and electrical insulation. Used in construction and piping. Compressive strength is 50-70 MPa .Flexible (Plasticized): Soft, pliable, and used in applications requiring flexibility like tubing and cable sheathing .Thermal Properties: Structurally stable up to 70-80°C before deforming.

Applications:

Pipes, building materials, window frames. (Flexible): Medical tubing, wire and cable insulation, hoses.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

ABS is a common thermoplastic polymer known for its excellent impact resistance, toughness, and good aesthetic properties. It is a terpolymer, combining the strength of styrene and acrylonitrile with the toughness of polybutadiene rubber

Key Properties:

High Impact Strength: Excellent resistance to physical impacts.Good Mechanical Properties: Strong and durable.Excellent Aesthetics: Easy to paint, glue, and has a good surface finish.Low UV Stability: Degrades under sunlight and requires coatings for exterior applications

Applications:

Automotive parts (grilles, interior trim), electronic housings, toys (like LEGO bricks), and consumer goods (luggage, appliances)

PU (Polyurethane)

Polyurethane is a versatile class of polymers made from the reaction of isocyanates and polyols. It is available in a wide variety of forms, from flexible foams to rigid solids and elastomers, making it highly adaptable

Key Properties:

Highly Versatile: Can be engineered to be soft and flexible or hard and rigid.Excellent Abrasion Resistance: Outstanding durability.Good Shock Absorption & Elasticity: Ideal for cushioning and seals.Load-Bearing Capacity: Can support heavy loads.

Applications:

Foams (furniture, car seats), elastomers (seals, gaskets, tires), coatings, adhesives, and insulation

Silicone

Silicone is a synthetic polymer made of siloxane, a chain of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms. It is a rubber-like material known for its extreme temperature resistance and flexibility

Key Properties:

Extreme Temperature Resistance: Remains stable and flexible across a very wide temperature range.Excellent Weather & UV Resistance: Does not degrade in sunlight or ozone.Hydrophobic: Repels water.Biocompatible: Often used in medical applications.

Applications:

Seals, gaskets, medical devices, cookware, electrical insulation, and aerospace components.

Bakelite & Phenolic Fiber

Bakelite is a specific brand of phenolic resin, a thermosetting polymer created by the reaction of phenol and formaldehyde. It is a rigid, heat-resistant material that was one of the first synthetic plastics. Phenolic fiber is a composite made from phenolic resin reinforced with fibers (like glass, carbon, or cotton) to enhance its mechanical properties

Key Properties:

High Heat Resistance: Excellent thermal stability.Inherent Fire Resistance: Self-extinguishing, with low smoke and toxicity .Chemical Resistance: Resists many solvents and acids.High Strength: Good mechanical strength, especially when reinforced.

Applications:

Electrical components (switchboards, sockets), high-heat parts, abrasive wheels, and aerospace & automotive components (rocket nozzles, aircraft interiors)
